Strangely, FrontPageAfrica is being sued for editorializing the LACC report. Now FPA is being sued also for its Editorials. This is a sleepy slope for all newspapers. The next time they will sue for the Cartoons in the newspaper. ON FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2013, a clerk from the Civil Law Court served at our offices in Monrovia, a writ of summons against FrontPageAfrica indicating that Ms. Matilda Parker, the Managing Director of the National Port Authority had filed a lawsuit for libel, seeking US$1 million dollars and praying on the court to order our newspaper closed, barred and stop from any and all further publication for the damages done to her, the women of Liberia and the country as a whole.

Dear Readers,

Over the past few weeks we have received numerous suggestions and comments regarding some derogatory postings and insults in the comments box of stories on www.frontpageafricaonline.com. Many have suggested a host of measures including dropping the feature all together - which is out of the question. We do try our best to delete offensive comments every now and then but due to staffing challenges, it is taking a toll on our editorial staff.

Mae Azango’s ‘Charter-Gate Apology to FrontPageAfrica; New Narratives PDF  | Print |  Email
Wednesday, 23 May 2012 16:17

To the Readers of FrontPageAfrica:

My appearance on Love FM, a local radio station, was not to discredit FrontPageAfrica (FPA) or its partners. However, it was an honest effort on my part to defend FPA and the story entitled Chartered-Gate. If my comment was construed to the contrary or appeared to convey a different message, I wish to apologize to the Editor and Publisher of FPA and its partner.

This debate occurred in the heat of the moment and I may have used words that were not carefully crafted. I stand behind my contribution to the story and the good work that was done in its publication. I hope this put the matter to rest.

Mae Azango
